In a shocking turn of events, Ina Thea Kenoyer, 47, has been arrested and charged with the murder of her boyfriend, Steven Riley Jr, 51, after he inherited a substantial $30 million and

indicated his intention to end their relationship. The incident took place on September 3 when Riley met with his lawyer to claim his inheritance. Unfortunately, he fell seriously ill that day.

On September 4, Kenoyer called 911, reporting Riley's unresponsiveness, and paramedics subsequently discovered him in a critical condition. He was rushed to Trinity Hospital but was eventually transferred to Bismarck Hospital, where he passed away.

Kenoyer claimed that she was entitled to a portion of Riley's inheritance as his common law wife and had plans to share the funds with her son. However, it's important to note that North Dakota does not legally recognize common law marriages.

A detailed autopsy on Riley revealed that he had died due to poisoning. Investigators suspect that Kenoyer had financial motives for allegedly poisoning him.

On Monday, Kenoyer was arrested and charged with AA felony murder, the most severe murder charge in North Dakota. This complex case continues to be under investigation, and Kenoyer remains in custody at the Ward County Detention Center without bond. In a series of strange Facebook posts prior to her arrest, she claimed her innocence.

This shocking incident comes in the midst of another case, where Kouri Richins of Utah awaits trial for allegedly killing her husband with a drink laced with fentanyl to gain control of a $2 million mansion he refused to purchase, intending to sell it for profit. Photo by Kevin.B, Wikimedia commons.
