The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $975 million as no one matched the six numbers drawn on Saturday night, extending a nearly three-month period without a significant

winner.

The winning numbers from the latest drawing were: 12, 13, 33, 50, 52, with the red Powerball number being 23.

Since New Year's Day, when a ticket in Michigan secured a $842.4 million jackpot, there has been no winner of Powerball's top prize, marking 38 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. This run of draws without a winner approaches the record of 41 consecutive drawings, which occurred twice in 2022 and 2021.

The $975 million prize is available for a sole winner who opts for an annuity paid over 30 years. Alternatively, a winner choosing the cash option would receive $471.7 million. Winners are subject to federal taxes, and many states also impose taxes on lottery winnings.

As the jackpot grows, ticket sales increase, making it more difficult to hit the jackpot. The odds of winning the top prize in Saturday's drawing were 1 in 292.2 million.
